Update on orders + Carbon Fiber Recall!

 Hello, Skyborne family!


Giving all those who are still waiting for their Trigger a quick update.  Since COVID-19 has gotten worst, our region in the GTA is in complete lockdown resulting in a delay in how many orders can be sent out daily.  


 This results in us having little to no staff at the time being, but we are still sending out the remaining orders.  UPS has also just started picking up shipments again since they were on holiday. 


 Carbon Fiber Trigger

The first batch(s) of Carbon Fiber Trigger have arrived and they look perfect. We are sending them out starting at the end of this week after a quick inspection and test.   

   Calf Leather Trigger(s)

We also just received a new batch of Brown, Oceanic Blue, and Phantom Black Triggers so if you are still awaiting yours and you ordered a leather, please continue to stay patient as we are still sending them out daily.

Update on orders! + Recall

Happy Thanksgiving all!

It's Abhi from Team Skyborne. Quick update on the Carbon Fiber Edition recalls that have the leather peeling issue.

   RECALL

  We have been going back and forth with our production team as to why the adhesive was lifting, it was due to using an "Environmentally friendly" glue adhesive that they did NOT run by us, which did not work out well with the Carbon leather material. 


   This combined with a rushed production due to pressure from backers, and lack of full staff as COVID-19 is still spreading, has caused this small mishap, that we are addressing immediately with a resolution for all Skyborne backers.


We wanted you all to know our factory has agreed to repair any defective wallets, and have since sent out photos of the repaired editions that have the lifting part fixed in place. (Photo below)


OPTIONS FOR BACKERS

Option #1.)  Opt to get the Oceanic Blue Edition (Photo below) as a replacement for your Carbon Fiber Edition.  This is a premium option upgrade as it's made of imported Calf Leather.

Option #2.) Wait for the new recall run to wrap up and get your Trigger in Carbon Fiber Stealth replaced for free. (2-4 weeks ETA)


Option # 3.)  As a worst-case scenario for those who do not wish to wait, all that is needed to repair this minor lifting, is a little amount of superglue, gorilla glue, or any type of strong adhesive. After applying a small amount to the lifted area, press it, and leave it to dry for 1-2 hours.

An email will also be sent to all Carbon Fiber Stealth backers shortly with this same message.

If you would like to choose options #2 & #3, a direct reply to this update/email is NOT REQUIRED, and we will assume you will be waiting for your repaired trigger.Your package will be sent accordingly.

Hello all!

Factory Recall Update

 So just a quick update, our factory has officially agreed to take back all defective items and have them fixed, before sending them back to us.  Though this is mainly an issue with the Carbon Fiber, we will also take care of any backers who are still experiencing a lot of lifting, however, please note that you should not stuff over 2 cards max into that slot, that it will expand and pull the leather, placing too much strain on the Trigger, which is essentially a very minimalistic tool, which the main feature, the main chamber with auto retrieval is the main focal point. 


 For those who want to send back defects, we are going to begin reaching out individually to all of you, and ensure everyone is taken care of and sorted out :)  


Care Guide

 This is NOT a full-sized wallet and was never marketed as a full-sized wallet, but as a modified alternate to the traditional "Dad wallet".


 This is essentially a cardholder, with room for a few extra bills, this covers 90% of modern ways of paying for most people, but by overstuffing the front pocket that is not meant to hold this much mass, will not only damage the accessory but also take away from it's the simplistic design and intended use.  


 We have future Skyborne accessories in the works that will have the full-sized modular capability for those who want more a full-sized wallet coming in early 2021. 


 Leather Quality

  The leathers are soft and curated from Italy, it can stand wear and tear for a lifetime but is best used with care and attention.  The leather + aluminum combo is both beautiful, and material-wise is strong with high levels of quality.  So please, when using the Trigger, we recommend the front pocket should be used sparsely, if for an additional card or two, business card, or 1-2 bills.   


*NOTE* Please read the previous update about instructions for the front pocket. 

  In the meantime, we will send out any remaining orders for those who have chosen leather options, and will also extend an option to change your existing order to our other leather options, either Golden Brown or Oceanic Blue for those who chose Carbon Fiber Stealth.

Remaining Orders

We did initially state we would send 100 orders a day, however, this recent batch finished, and we needed to wait for the remaining orders to arrive, which they have this morning, please continue to stay patient.


  We will reach out to all backers personally once final confirmation is received from our production team.  We will keep you all in the loop, and do everything in our power to get the Trigger into your hands in time for the holidays.

Carbon Fiber PU recall + new instructions!

Hello all!

 We are continuing to send out orders, as we just finished our first batch, and are currently waiting for the next one to arrive.  Continue to stay patient, and we will do our best to get the Trigger into your hands :) 


    Many of you are absolutely loving the new trigger and the leather and overall quality, and have ordered a few more off our site which is great :D!  Thank you all so much.  


MAIN CHAMBER

  The main chamber should hold no more than 6 cards.  This allows an ID, two main credit cards, a debit card, a rewards card, and the second piece of ID.  It's the right variety and amount for 90% of occasions and allows you to leave your full-sized wallet, purse, side bag, tote, etc. at home.  


 It takes a second to pay, collect rewards, and leave while keeping your cards safe from theft with its anti-theft RFID aluminum base.  


FRONT POCKET

  The front pocket is NOT meant to be overstuffed with 3-5 cards or a lot of bills, or more as we initially stated and in retrospect was only a maximum limit hypothesis rather than a recommendation for how many cards the Trigger should fit, which all worked fine when we personally tested out the samples, but it seems the rushed production caused this.  


 We sincerely apologize for this, and have already taken the steps in hiring a new local QC team that allows our teammates to be present during testing, and have since hired new personnel to overlook production for Trigger.  Ultimately, this is a small hiccup and will only allow us to direct the team and grow, with more attention to detail.


 As many of you who have owned previous Skyborne accessories know the quality, and workmanship of what we bring, and this is a one-off minor issue that will be resolved immediately.   We took a risk with a new factory, during this pandemic,  and there was a small price to pay for that.


 Carbon Fiber Recall

   Our production team have agreed to re-do the Carbon Fiber Stealth, addressing the issue of the adhesive right away :)  So, for those that are having issues with the leather lifting specifically Carbon Fiber, we are happy to offer returns and re-send the new editions the moment they are done.

Update on shipments + Quality control!

Hello all!

 Hope everyone is doing well! 

 Please continue your patience as we send out as many orders as we can, so far we have sent out about 50% off the orders, and are continues to send out as many as we can.


Quality control + Adhesive

 There have been a few of you that are having an issue with the adhesive sticking down to the leather after placing cards into that slot.   We want you all to know we have noticed this on a small % of the batch, and are on top of it immediately. 


  We have already expressed extreme concern to our factory, with a threat to cut ties with them if this is not addressed and fixed right away.  We have hired a new quality control team locally as well this time with a team member of our own to be present.


    This is indeed a small defect that occurred due to the mass production that was more than what they were anticipating.  It's no excuse, and we are working diligently to fix this issue together with them, and are seeking to get a recalled batch done asap with replacements given to the defective items.


  Please give us 2-3 business days as we sort this out, and an update will follow very soon after.
